Occhiali AR di Apple in arrivo nel 2020

Si era già parlato in passato , nell’ultimo anno , che Apple stesse lavorando ad un visore AR molto simile a degli occhiali da indossare tutti i giorni .

L’interesse per Apple verso la realtà aumenta (AR) è molto elevato : lo abbiamo visto per esempio con l’introduzione su iOS 11 di ARKit per sviluppare App in realtà aumentata da usare semplicemente sui nostri iPhone o iPad senza bisogno di particolari attrezzature .

Questo però sarebbe il primo passo verso la rivoluzione dell’AR che dovrebbe arrivare nel 2020 : Apple infatti starebbe sviluppando degli occhiali per la AR che dovrebbero montare un nuovo sistema operativo creato ad hoc . Il sistema dovrebbe chiamarsi rOS e avrebbe come base iOS .

Just as tvOS powers the Apple TV, macOS runs on Macs and watchOS runs on Apple Watches, “rOS” will power Apple’s AR headset. Geoff Stahl, formerly a software manager for games and graphics at Apple, is one of the directors of the “rOS” software group.

Engineers are prototyping a range of applications, from mapping and texting to more advanced features including virtual meeting rooms and 360-degree video playback. The company has discussed pairing the headset with its own version of the App Store, where users would be able to download content, just as they do with the iPhone, Watch, Apple TV and Mac.
